Term of Duty
As a Legislative Page, you will be serving “at the pleasure of the House”. This means, that you will only be asked to serve while parliament is in session. The term of duty is established according to the Parliamentary Calendar, and is typically from two to four weeks in length. Selected students may serve only one term of duty regardless of the length of the term. Once a student has served as a Page even for one day, he or she is no longer eligible to serve again.
The dates of the term of duty are always tentative. The parliamentary schedule may change with very little notice which would affect the dates of the term of duty. Pages will be informed of any changes to their term as soon as possible. Pages are expected to attend the program every day from Monday to Friday for the duration of their term of duty.
