Brick by Brick – Building a Legislature
Happy 150th birthday Ontario! To commemorate this milestone moment, the Legislative Assembly of Ontario is recreating our Legislative Building out of LEGO® – brick by brick.
Construction of Ontario’s current Legislative Building began in 1886. Six years and over ten million bricks later, it opened to the public on April 4th, 1893. Designed in the Richardson Romanesque style, the Legislative Building features heavy stonework, rounded archways and domed towers – all of which will be recreated in the LEGO® Legislature.
Constructed from over 16 000 LEGO© bricks, the LEGO® Legislature tells the story of the rich architectural history of our Legislative Building. Be a part of history and help us make the Lego Legislature! Come in to add a brick or two, and see the building grow and take shape, brick by brick.
