On February 6, 1952, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II ascended to the throne, becoming Canada’s Queen and Head of State. In 2012 we celebrated her Diamond Jubilee, marking the 60th year of her reign.

The Queen has made twenty trips to Canada, and has travelled extensively throughout Ontario. First coming here as a young princess, she has visited Ontario’s Legislative Building and the surrounding Queen’s Park grounds on four memorable occasions. The images reproduced here commemorate these historic moments.
